Welcome, and thank you for visiting our website. Here’s what’s been happening. . . The Democrats elected in 2008 formed a majority on the Bound Brook Council and worked to follow the will of the voters by holding down the costs for our appointed professionals (attorneys, engineers, auditors and insurance). Flood control was finally fully funded through President Obama’s American Recovery Act, and is moving forward every day. Progress was made by forcing the demolition of the Brass Rail and Bolmer Building sites, opening the path for future redevelopment in our downtown. Problems at the Café Imperial were brought under control with strong court-imposed restrictions on their business operations (eliminating the “night club” and reducing hours of operation with strong penalties for failure to comply). Rosina’s opened in the train station building and the Brook Arts Center once again opened its doors for community theater. With two seats up for election in 2009, we held on to our majority by electing John Buckley to one of the two openings. We wish John, Vinnie, Hal and Tony luck as they move forward in 2010. There is much work yet to be done to improve our financial situation (taxes), quality of life (clean streets) and redevelopment (new, stable downtown businesses). There are two council seats up for election in 2010: Tony Pranzatelli will be running for re-election and we will need a candidate for the second seat. If you, or someone you know are interested in being a part of the progress in Bound Brook, please contact me through this website (simply click on the CONTACT/Webmasters tab). In addition to the council seats, there are open positions on various boards and commissions in town. If you would like to join us, we meet monthly at the JKF Democratic Club in the Codrington Park Field House. Our meetings are generally the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7:00, but you should check the JFK Club tab for a schedule of our meetings. Once again, thank you for visiting our website and thank you for your vote of confidence in this past election. We look forward to seeing you back again. Karen Carroll, Chair
